sock dreams!
i never did that sock dreams review, like i meant to! i was going to post this as a comment to
princess_eowyn 's post but it was gonna be waay too long. i hope it's okay to make a whole post about it instead.
as a general review of sock dreams as a company: i have been buying from them for a long time, because i've had a sock thing long before i started wearing lolita. i have always received my stuff really quickly (usually 2-3 days, and i'm in chicago) and i have yet to receive any crappy socks, although the different brands do vary in quality and they seem to hold up better if you don't put them in the dryer.
i have 17.5 inch calves. i prefer to get over-knees and just fold down a cuff if there is any extra length. (also i wear size 9.5 or 10 shoes, but my feet are closer to 9.5 in length.)
here are styles that fit me. (if there is a link, it goes to a picture of my calf in them that i took for when i was going to make my review post -- the pictures are kinda from a weird angle but i hope they are helpful.)
overknees:
- harajuku clocked argyle
- cronert cotton **
- cronert houndstooth
- o lovelies
- o basics
- o chevrons
knee highs:
- nouvella striped knee highs w/ lace (these only just fit)
- SITM ice cream stripes
- SITM dainty dots
- m squared
- SITM tri stripes
- neapolitan stripes
the only socks i have bought from them that haven't worked are the "i love music" knee highs. i didn't even try putting them on -- they look like they are for skinny calves only.
** i absolutely love these. very nice quality and there is definitely room in there for bigger calves than mine.
