The other night, while looking for some cute black dresses, I impulse bought Btssb's waffle snow dot jsk in pink. I'm sure I'll love it when it arrives, but right now, I'm kind of concerned given I have nooooo idea what to do with it. I'm also very new in my lolita journey, and therefore, barely have anything else to draw from ( Read more... )

I would say this dress is MORE versatile because it doesn't have a print. Just imagine the possibilities:
Pair with browns, creams, and golds, for a chocolatey inspired coord. Or straight up use chocolate themed items from other series.
Pair with white and lace for a sweet and innocent vibe.
It's hard to tell exactly what the shoulder straps/ sleeves are doing but I would love to see this with a black peignor and Mary Janes.
I think you could also pair this with other sweet colors like sax, lavender, or mint and utilize other printed lolita items like socks or bows.

You could try wearing your cupcake petti and see how it does but if the dress is cut for an Aline petti it may have trouble accommodating the extra bulk near your waist. If that turns out to be true classical puppets also has a great Aline petti collection or try eBay since decent Aline Pettis are much easier to find than cupcake or bell shaped ones.

As for the Mary Magdalene dress... I would personally wear it three ways: without a blouse but wi th a bolero for non-lolita occasions, spiced up with retro accessories andno blouse since I'm getting that vibe, and with a ruffle black blouse for lolita occasions.

Are there lolita peignors? I don't know if I've ever seen one, but being new, perhaps I just have missed them.

Thanks for the color suggestions! Lavender was the other color I was interested in, so in the future, perhaps I'll have some lavender stuff to mix it with.

Appreciate the input about the Mary Magdalene dress, too. I really love it, but thinking it may be too "special occasion" for me... Trying to decide. :)
