I was checking out old steampunk posts on the comm and as a follow up to a post by sanakanami on steam loli releases, I wanted to curate some other recent releases.
Alice and the Pirates' release of Clockwork Aristokitty, May 2013
Not strictly steampunk but would work well given the clocks and gears
Infanta Black Sugary Tea Vintage Vest JSK
Plugging in this one from 2012 (Infanta takes the lead in my taobao purchases!). I accessorised it one time for a con as a strictly steampunk coord (no petticoat). I plan to revisit this dress for a pirate coord in the future as well. I could also see this used for country loli.
Next is Metamorphose's March 2014 Wheel of Time
This series was brought to my attention at my first meet-up when I mentioned steampunk. Had I started lolita earlier, I would've gotten at least two pieces from this series. I was impressed by how Meta incorporated the less common colourways unlike a certain Classical Puppets dress. Also awesome was how the "Metamorphose" was geared up.
Fanplusfriend's Time Traveler Steampunk Lolita
Not sure when this came out but I loved the chains and got the shrug, blouse, and skirt set for my first meetup coord.
Alice and the Pirates Cogwheel of Time and Eternal El Dorado (September/October? 2014)
I loved the aged look effect from the colour gradient.
Last but not least is STEAM by h.NAOTO
This series really managed to put the punk in steampunk lolita.
What do you guys think? Would you make changes to any of these pieces? Do you think we'll see other steam loli releases in the upcoming year? Bury me if IW ever does. Please share any other pieces you might know of or have adapted for steam loli!
