I've never looked at Aliexpress for lolita. I've always gotten a bit of a shady vibe from them, or thought that they're a Taobao reseller.

Does anyone actually know anything about Aliexpress?

I order from there and all I can say is that you have to be careful who you buy from. Check the seller ratings and look at the product reviews. If you aren't happy with your order you can return it.

Thanks for the info. I guess that it's like buying from anywhere on the internet then. You just have to use common sense.

If you're willing to put up with long wait times already, have you thought about looking on Taobao? It probably isn't nearly as cheap as the sellers you see on Aliexpress, but there are a lot more reviews about lolita-specific shops on there. I feel like you're more likely to get something nice from shops that other lolitas have ordered from instead of trying to forge a brand new path and hoping what you get works with lolita.
