Review for Infanta Velveteen jumper skirt and shop My Lolita Dress
Hi, this is my first review so I hope it's a helpful one ^_^
This review is for The velveteen Jumper skirt with Cinderella embroidery from Infanta, which I bought through My Lolita Dress. I always make a point to thoroughly research shops before I buy from them and felt I was taking a chance as there seems to be a lot of people who say this is a Milanoo shop, and then others who will vouch for it. So, as the website had the item I wanted in red, which I hadn't found elsewhere, I went ahead and ordered. I'm so very glad I did and can safely say this website is not a Milanoo shop!
Firstly the website. A lot of people have commented that it was slow, crashed from time to time and the basket was difficult to edit. In my personal experience there wasn't any such issues so perhaps it's been improved since then. It's a pretty simple and standard shopping system with a basket and paypal checkout at the end. The website claims on the item page that the listed items are in stock and can be shipped in 2-4 days, though my order took just a day or two longer due to the item being temporarily out of stock. This was no problem for me but just keep in mind that it might be wise to check the stock status of an item first as the website is maybe not completely up to date all the time.
The owner of the shop is very polite and pleasant to deal with and responded very quickly to all my questions. I can't fault at all the communication. Here's a run down of my order for anyone who wants a detailed time scale.
May 2nd, Friday: I placed my order after inquiring about matching headbows for the item, after which I decided to make my own instead of buying one. I get an email to confirm the order
May 7th, Wednesday: I send an email about the order, bugging for a shipping number as I'm not very patient :)
May 8th, Thursday: They email back to say it'll be a day or two more due to it being temporarily out of stock. I don't mind and reply that I'll wait. They also offer to take a deadline if I'm in a hurry, which I wasn't so I was happy to wait. I inquire about shipping and can they use DHL which is agreed to, instead of Fedex which is another option. This is all in the same day.
May 14th, Wednesday: I email to bug about the shipping number again. The reply says it was shipped on the 10th so it was already on the way!
May 15th, Thursday: The parcel arrives, much sooner than I expected.
So the order time was 13 days in all, from initial order to the item arriving at my office. The shipping was really fast and you can specify which you want to use if you have a preference.
All in all it was a very positive experience and I can't find much fault with My Lolita Dress at all. The only hitch was having a day or two more to wait than I thought which overall is no problem. The shop is certainly not deserving of it's reputation as a Milanoo shop. There is a comparatively wide range of clothes and shoes to choose from compared to some other Taobao resellers.
Next is the dress
The size was a standard XL which I was expecting to be a bit snug as I'm only and cm or two within the measurements but it was roomier than I thought and I was able to pull the ribbon quite a lot at the back.
All pictures I've tried to keep close to the actual colours.
The overall colour is quite dark compared to the stock photos. Luckily I was prepared for that as I'd alread seen other pictures of this dress. The embroidery is also much more gold in colour than they appear on the website which I thought actually made it much nicer. The fabric is quite soft and good quality though beware when putting on a blouse underneath as it did leave some red stains in the armpits. They washed out quite easily but just keep it in mind when thinking about putting an expensive brand blouse on underneath or something.
It comes with these two bows which are detachable. The ribbon on those is more an off white, cream colour than gold.
I'm not an expert on lace but even I can tell what's used around the bottom is very good quality indeed. It's beautifully woven and very soft.
The embroidery is gorgeous. There are a couple of frayed spots if you really look closely but nothing out of the ordinary.
The whole outfit. The blouse is bodyline and the head bow I made myself.
Overall very happy with both this item and My Lolita Dress.
