Hello, my name is Miranda Williams and I am a PhD student in the Department of Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), USA. I am studying how Lolitas use dress items to construct their identity. Primarily, I am researching what it is like to be a Lolita and how this impacts the everyday lives of those who are involved with the subculture.
You are invited to participate in this study if you are currently a member of the Lolita subculture and have been for at least one year. If you are 18 years of age (or older) and agree to participate, you will be asked to take part in a 60-90 minute interview through Skype or at a location that is convenient for you.
There is no penalty for refusing to participate. There is also no compensation for participation. If you are interested in participating in the study, or have questions about the study, please email me at mswilli8@uncg.edu or respond to this message. If you know of individuals who may be interested in participating in the study, please forward this message to them.
Thank you for your time,
Miranda Williams
