EMS Shipping During the Holiday Season

Since EMS is a pretty popular shipping option for Lolitas getting items from Japan, I thought I'd ask here: In your opinion, how much does the holiday season impact EMS shipping times for you? Do your items come in later than usual, or on time? If they come in later and you tend to watch your tracking, do things get slowed down more on the Japanese ( Read more... )

Hi! I ordered a Bodyline dress on the 23rd of this month, and it arrived today with no issues, even with the bad weather we've been having where I am (the East Coast of USA). I wouldn't be too concerned, since this was my first order from abroad as well. Good luck! <3

Things should be fine on the Japanese end, but if you haven't already ordered your item I would be a little concerned about it arriving by the 7th... USPS is really slow this time of year and they're the service that processes EMS packages once they enter the country.

I've got two orders in the works. One was mailed 4 days ago and is somewhere between Tokyo Int'l and JFK according to the tracking, and the other was mailed yesterday (though I'm still waiting on a tracking # on that one). I'm feeling optimistic about the older order, since that's usually just a few days out at this point, but the second is making me itch.

Normally, I'd never even attempt to order something international less than two weeks from an event, let alone during the holidays, but I got a little desperate about my head wear options and I don't have time to make anything. >.<;;

One Tao Bao order I made once got caught on the holiday clusterfuck and arrived until mid january, I always tend to warn my friends that if they want something to arrive before christmas better to be early and sure.

Given that Mexico celebrates the Biblical Magi and in some states of the south actually give gifts instead of christmas (but lately it has been mixed so some kids receive gifts on both dates) send stuff to their families and sort, the mail trouble tends to extend longer....
