Sweetie Pie Seamstress for Hire! I know Lolitas have lots of ideas!

There are a lot of talented Lolita seamstresses out there, starting their own brands and coming up with new ideas.  But one thing that I love about Lolita is how unique and personalizable it is for the individual!  I love to design and sew and dress up in Lolita, but it got me to thinking: there are a lot of great designers/owners of brands out there.  What there isn't a lot of is seamstresses who work with Lolitas to design clothing together.  Besides Sweet Rococo and individual, local seamstresses, it seems that - unless you have the time, skill and equipment - Lolitas don't have much of an outlit when it comes to wearing a garment that is completely their own.  Designed by themselves.  One of a kind.

Lolitas are notorious for being excellent coordinators and have amazing creativity and I would love to be a channel for that.  I don't feel like the best way I can use my talent in the community is by trying to invent a new way to incorporate forks and spoons into a print.  I know artist who would love to design their own prints and have it turned into a skirt or JSK they could wear.  Or Lolitas who see fabric in a store that calls out to them and wish really hard that they had the time or skill to make something out of it.

For a while I dabbled with the idea of starting a brand.  It sounded fun.  But then I did a couple freelance jobs on the side and was reminded that Lolitas have lots of ideas.  They know what they want in a dress.  And I could make it happen.

I have recently graduated from a conservatory university, where I specifically studied Costume Design & Technology (which is a lot more character analysis, color theory and bruised finger tips than theatrics).  Being a poor art student, I couldn't justify not buying books or food to afford my covetted dream dresses.  But I saw potential in fabric and was able to start building my own wardrobe from scratch.  Blouses, skirts, OPs...all the typical Lolita things.  But my background gives me ample experience in more complicated items such as corsets, dye-work and milinery.  I also have worked professionally in theatre for the past 4 years, aside from educational productions.  My experience in both designing, sewing and wearing Lolita allows me to help you navigate through all of your ideas to narrow down what it is you are really looking for in that custom made-to-fit item.

But this post isn't about me, it's about you!

If you are bubbling with creative ideas and inspiration, but you just need a fairy godmother...
