Review: Sweet Days 1 Day -- Daily Disposable Circle Lens

Feb 10, 2013 21:00

Hello everyone! I know circle lenses are not strictly a lolita thing, but since some of us use them with our outfits, I thought I would share a fantastic brand of circle lens that I found at Don Quixote in Japan, and have continued wearing ever since.

I like the look of circle lenses when I wear sweet lolita, but I've never been a fan of how the GEO/NEO/EOS etc. yearlies feel in my eyes. They get scratchy and sandpaper-y quite quickly, and I find that I'm unable to wear them for too many hours at a time.

In Japan, I discovered a brand called Sweet Days. They make yearlies, but they also make daily disposables! You get 5 pairs in a pack, and you wear them once before you throw them away. Click here to visit the Sweet Days 1 Day website.

They come in a package like this. Each pack of 10 lenses costs 1980yen, which is pretty expensive. That being said, the lenses live up to the cost in both quality and comfort.

The lenses come in six colours, and every power from 0.00 to -6.00.

Here's what the Apple Green lenses look like in my eyes:

And the Honey Gold

I have to say, these lenses are so comfortable and thin that when I wear them, it feels like I have nothing in my eyes at all. They barely need to be refreshed with eye drops. They're also convenient, since you don't need to worry about cleaning them after each wear.

They have a pretty significant enlargement factor at 14.5 diameter, and the black outer ring is nice and dramatic for bold styles. The colour is very vivid. For your reference, here is the difference between worn and unworn in my eyes.

Overall, my ratings for the lenses:
Comfort: 5/5
Enlargement: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Price: 3/5

I think they could stand to be cheaper, but since I only wear them for special occasions, I have no problem spoiling my eyes with them!

Please note that to order the lenses, you need to use a shopping service, as the Sweet Days website does not ship overseas.
I would say this is a great alternative for people who feel like the typical brands of circle lens from Pinky Paradise and Honeycolor irritate their eyes. I hope this review will be helpful for someone.
Have a great evening. ヾ(・ω・*)ノ
