Three Tiered Skirt Help?
When making a three Tiered skirt, do you gather everything to the same length? How do you get that Lolita flair? Obviously each tier has an added amount of fabric. Tier 1 should be around your hip size, tier 2 should be doubled and tier 3 should be tripled. But if each tier is longer than the one on top of it, the only way that makes sense to me is gathering them to the same size.
I understand gathering and am, so people tell me, fairly good at it. I've made a number of gathered skirts before and enjoy it. How do you go about making a three tiered skirt though? Also, I've put lace on hems but never on seams before. I want to use the lace to separate each tier to make it look a little choppy. Do I apply the lace like I do on hems?
