Here's pictures for week 3

We took our first trip to the city building materials public dump! It's free for city residents although they didn't check anything... Anyway we got rid of a ton of old flooring :D
We mudded up the ceiling in the hallway and stairway. Now they need to be sanded, but it's pretty sad that the mud texture still looks better than what was there
The floors are just about ready to go... but we found old termite damage! yow! We had pulled up almost all of the paper-backed linoleum downstairs, and against the wall in the middle room, I had started pulling up one of the last pieces and I heard a sickening old wood cracking noise... and a good chunk of the floor came up with the paper, nails and all. It's all very old and brittle, but the planks are totally shot in about a 5 foot by 3 foot area :( Luckily we've got good flooring guys coming, and when I told them about it, they said "oh, no problem, we'll probably cut them out when we're sanding and then pop new ones in the next day. They may not be an exact match, though," to which we replied that anything is better than termite damage. You can see in the pictures that while it's not a large area, the wood is completely ruined. Luckily the joists are still just fine!
We've denailed the front room. You can see just how many nails there were.
We also started testing paint colors, and Kate's whitewashed the mantel-thing.
And more to come! We have an electrician in there today rebranching everything inside and wiring up outside lights.
