PERSONALITY: Between him and his brother, Castor is the more gentle of the two, in touch, words, and demeanor. There is a kindness in his eyes, though he is hardly a pushover, and is known to be harsh from time to time. He also happens to be more quiet, but that doesn't mean that if he has something to say, he won't say it up front. Gentle as he may be, there is a fierceness behind his actions to let everyone else know that he may be nicer than Pollux, but he is not to be underestimated under any circumstance.

He is probably more serious than he needs to be. Castor is aware of how to have fun, but he can't always take a joke, and his humor ends up rather black or dry as a result. To him, there is a time and place for everything. He does enjoy a good laugh, and can be appreciative of a good joke when he hears one, but he's not a joker himself, even when he pokes fun of others sometimes and can be very immature while he's at it.

On the dark side, Castor is extremely protective of not only his own things, but his family, especially his siblings. If you fuck with his siblings, you are in essence fucking with him. There is nothing he wouldn't do to protect his family or avenge them if something happened. He can also be very possessive, and disapproving of anyone who speaks unkindly or familiarly with his siblings, Pollux in particular. While he tries not to be annoying about it, he can't always help himself. He loves his siblings with every fibre of his being, and will protect them until the day he dies.

With a little effort, he can be easily angered, though he doesn't have a short fuse. He can go from cheery to upset in the blink of an eye, and sometimes requires his brother to calm him down. Tact is not something that he has, as he is more likely to act or speak impulsively, moreso when he's angry. If someone who isn't a superior or family member pisses him off, they will get punched.

He and boredom are mortal enemies, which is why he is constantly attempting to do things and go places to keep from succumbing to boredom. Castor doesn't enjoy sitting around doing nothing, and prefers to be outside over inside, with people rather than without. The boy doesn't like being in one place for too long, and has been known to rap his fingers or tap his foot when waiting. But he isn't impatient -- he just hates being bored, and will resort to nearly anything to keep from being so.

HISTORY: Castor was the son of Leda, Queen of Sparta, and King Tyndareus, and was most famously known as one half of The Dioscouri, or the Gemini. He was born in an egg, sharing the yolk with his brother Pollux while his sisters, Clytemnestra and the future Helen of Troy shared the other half. Unlike his immortal brother Pollux, whose father was Zeus, Castor was a mortal.

Much of his life was spent practically glued to his twin's side, as they were almost never seen apart. Both were skilled horsemen for sure, but it was Castor, who was known as "the tamer of horses", who could successfully train any horse to bend to his will with his gentle hand. One could say that he had a gift with horses. He was an avid hunter of wildlife as well, and was also considered to be a patron god of men at sea. Eventually he would become an Argonaut with his brother and join Jason on their quest for the Golden Fleece, as well as participate in the Calydonian Boar Hunt. He was also a skilled fencer, and even taught Heracles how to fence.

Being close to his beloved sister Helen, he was set off when Theseus and Pirithous kidnapped Helen and carted her away from Sparta. The two were followed by Castor and co., and when Theseus conveniently went away to seek out the goddess Persephone, Helen was reclaimed, as well as Aethra, Theseus' mother, and the sister of Pirithous. They were subsequently given to Helen as slaves.

As an adventure-seeker, he went on many dangerous voyages, but none were more foolish and dangerous than the Dioscouri's quest to sweep their two cousins, daughters of King Leucippus off their feet. The girls were unfortunately already betrothed to their own brothers, yet Castor and his brother cared little about the technicalities. They whisked the girls off to Sparta and took them as their own to marry and bear them children. The two betrothed cousins, Idas and Lynceus, however, did not immediately chase after the twins. They got their revenge once the boys had come to them.

After a bloody confrontation in which Lynceus' and Idas' lives were taken by Pollux and Zeus respectively, Castor was very close to succumbing to a fatal wound from Idas. Pollux, who could not face the world without him, appealed to Zeus so that the twins could alternate days between Olympus and the Underworld so that they could share immortality. Zeus would eventually pity them and place them as the constellation Gemini in the sky.

REINCARNATIONS: He has always shared a reincarnation with Pollux. The first was during the Roman Renaissance as a twin, born to a prestigious painter. The second, beginning during the 1846 French Revolution, was barely considered a reincarnation, and their mother, pregnant with the two of them, was killed during a protest she'd been encouraged not to attend. The third was as a WWI soldier who lost his life in combat.

His current reincarnation was born June 2, 1986, named Nicholas Orkney. Growing up in Birmingham, England provided him with some of the best times of his life, but also some of the absolute worst. He and his twin brother, who learned quite early on who they were, often snuck out to explore the city, possibly out of simple boredom or as a reaction to their parents' poor entertainment skills. They would go on grand adventures that sometimes landed them in quite a bit of trouble, leading both to get kicked out of private school when their headmaster couldn't contain them any longer.

Castor was not the sort to pursue a career in anything, leading him to disappoint his parents and career counsellor when he informed them he had no plans for further education after college. Rather than following his parents' footsteps, both him and his twin blew that popsicle stand and decided to come to America, the so-called land of opportunity. And where better to go than New York City?
