So, new fic is up: check it out here

It actually occured to me that I should make a more concerted effort to publicize my fic if I, you know, actually want more than two people to read it. That said, I recognize that there isn't a massively huge BJD fic interest, though I think there are more of us in existance than the world realizes. If you're inclined, feel free to share.

Real life has been alternately dull and overwhelming. I'd want it to be December, except for the fact that I need more time to perfect the bride's maid diet, which isn't going particularly wel at the moment due to stress levels. Truthfully, it isn't so much the fact that I need to lose weight; I just need to maintain the healthy weight I was at when I went for my dress, because I can't afford more alterations than are absolutely necessary. It's just that I come home from work thinking about nice whole-wheat pasta with vegies or diced tomatos, and I'm starving, and I open the pantry and...oh, look, a cookie! nomnomnomnom. Eggs have become a staple in my diet lately, because they're easy, but I think they'd taste better if someone else cooked them for me. MMM, Mark Darcy...beating eggs in my kitchen...what were we talking about again?

I really need to get my arse in gear; I seem to be becoming increasingly lazy on weekends--something that, as a teacher, I can't really afford to do. There are papers to grade, and lessons to plan, but somehow last weekend I looked back and realized that the most productive thing I accomplished was teaching siri how to insert proper punctuation into my text-messages. I wish I were kidding.

I've been working/sitting in on a research conference at my job, the conclusion of which is this evening with the keynote address followed by a reception. I want to spend a Saturday night making nice with my colleagues about as much as I want to give birth without pain relief. I'm going mostly to support the friend who is primarily responsible for putting this on, and because there's free alcohol.

Also, v. quickly: the lovely sfaith has started posting a new fic: The History of Mark Darcy, a Barrister (part 1 of 18).
Please give her some love, because she's wonderful, and she inspires me.

And that's all I've got, kids. Must wizz; Byeeee!
