There are so many pleasures in life, and one of them that I always enjoy is afternoon snack time. What could be more joyful than coming home to rumage through the cupboards to see what is hidden behind each door? Today, door number one had small packages of doritos! Door number 2 had a store-bought chocolate cookie! Door number 3 had a homemade cinnimon square! And, Door number 4, the trusty refridgerator, had cheese to put on crackers. Who could possibly choose between these snacks? I can garentee they won't be in the house for long!
And, then, there is the big choice of tea or coffee. So many decisions to make, and none of them bad ones. Oh, what to do? Maybe I'll just have to have everything! Then I'd have to try extra hard to eat all of my dinner to prove that I didn't have an unreasonable afternoon snack.
I've taken on a few extra resonsiblities this year at school.
1. a lunch duty every Tuesday. this entails me eating my free school lunch while walking around making sure no one is choking on their lunch, throwing their lunch, stuffing their lunch down someone elses pants or any other untolerable behaviour related to lunch. So far, the biggest challenge is paying attention to anything else while concentrating on not dribbling my lunch down the front of my shirt while walking around. My choice of a jacket potato stuffed with chicken curry and topped with cheese was a special challenge to eat with a bendy plastic fork and an audience of about 1000.
2. Chinese afterschool club. I will get paid for doing this, and only the nicest kids will want to come. Haven't figured out the details yet, but I think it will be fun.
I have secured funding for my Chinese course as well. Now, I just have to get back into the habit of studying!
