School keeps on getting better with each semester that goes on…
Academic. I got really good grades this semester. All As so far with an exception of an A- in a one-credit government seminar. I really enjoyed all my classes this semester. Econometrics was a lot of fun. The Prof. made proofs and very technical stuff quite interesting. It’s amazing how engaging he was as a lecturer despite the subject matter. And my Math Proofs class (Foundations of Mathematics) went a lot better than I expected. It seemed after the first two quizzes I started to get a hand of how to do Proofs and I got a lot better at the class, which I’m quite grateful for. So I’m confident now I can handle higher proof based classes in the Mathematics department. They’ll still be hard and I’ll probably still be “wtf” sometimes, but I have a feeling I’ll be able to handle it.
Girlfriend. Things are still going well with my new girlfriend. There’s so my things I like about her. She's so sweet, has a great sense of humor and sarcasm, her faith is great, her amazing writing abilities that can help turn around my awkwardly written papers, how she's always really excited to hang out with me, and just overall how we seem just to have a great chemistry. No complaints really, I’m perfectly content in this area of my life.
Spiritually. I just got baptized at my Church in Williamsburg this semester. That was a big step for me in my spiritual journey. So everything is going well. There was an InterVarsity fall conference in Hampton Roads that was a lot of fun. It was full of good spiritual talks and bonding time with my fellow IV people.
Just been studying for the GRE’s this winter break. I don’t care about the Verbal too much, but I hope to get as close to a top score on the Math as I can, since that score is really important. I’m a little bit nervous, but ultimately I’m at peace with whatever the outcome is.
