Assorted Postings

Summer:  I have my summer plans lined up.  I’m going to do research for the professor I’m a TA for this year.  I’ll be looking up the minute by minute timing of earning reports for the 30 companies on the Dow Jones Industrial Average for the past 5 years.  I know this project educational.  Getting involved in real economics research that hasn’t been done before should be a good experience for me.  I’ll be getting free housing and living with my current roommate who’s staying for summer classes, so that’s cool as well.

Grades:  Been getting As in my classes so far.  I really enjoy my classes.  I find my Stats and Calc classes challenging at times, but very stimulating, and reminding me again how much I enjoy math.  Politics of China and Japan is a fun, interesting class.  I really like how the professor lectures.  In my MacroEcon class, I’m not learning many new things, but he’s an entertaining lecturer and is easy, so it’s all good.  Political Philosophy is my least favorite. I’m just overall “blah” about it.  But this feeling is shared in the class, and we only have to write papers, so I can get buy with cursory reading and just talking to my friends about the papers we have to write.

Housing:  I’m planning to have a three person apartment with my current fabulous roommate and one of my hallmates next year.  However, my roommate and I have been bumped, meaning we’re kicked out of the housing selection process until more people voluntary withdraw.  I’ve heard that we’ll likely be reinstated, but it’s still annoying.  But I’m not too worried about it.  There are more important things in life to think about.

Ipod:  My Ipod is dead.  It gives the sad ipod face on the screen, which means there’s a hardware malfunction.  But luckily I bought a protection plane for it, so I can get it fixed at marginally no cost.  So I’ll be out of an ipod for about two weeks or so, but I’ll survive.  I can use my laptop to listen to my sleepy time music.

But overall life is good.  I’m content with my social life and I’m feeling good spiritually as well.
