Here's a few images of the maternety design for one of the bridesmaids. I have a few in process shots, but am not sure if I'm making a diary about these yet.
Center back. I made the self fabric ruching cover the tab of the zipper. You can also see the glowing effect these silk baron colors have in lower lighting, even over the grainy quality of the photo.
Three quarter view, showing the obvious placement of the expansion panels. I don't like them for the record, but this is the breaks when the maternity plans are left to last, and still need expansion.
Center front. High center front point to accommodate pregnancy, as well as the small green garland above the pleated ruffle. It was ruched with green ribbon for the final look, I don't have those photos yet.
Side expansion panel before the skirt slash was in place. As it was an aftermarket addition, it waited until after the skirt was attached.
Skirt pleats spaced and mostly stitched. Bodice is the top of frame, with a pink self fabric facing to finish the bodice hem, and the bottom shows silk organza underlining the fragile skirt material and preventing shedding threads everywhere.
Would you like to get obsessive with the spacing of your pleats? Stitches and position on the bodice? I highy recommend 1/4" woven gingham. If you like adhesives, try Tiger Tape. Pleat like a mo- fo!
