Wow. This is mesmerising. I feel like I need to shake my head and come back to reality after reading it. It's strange and dream-like which seems to both heighten and soften the violence of it.
and all he can remember is the sound of their blood pumping and the rhythm of their breathing. The only creatures in the universe. That’s what it felt like. Not for the first time he wonders what Bruce wouldn’t do to have him, what Bruce wouldn’t do. He can’t think of a thing.
Clear and rhythmic. They're all caught in this endless repetition. And I loved the image of his 'red cloak like a bird'.
Thanks :) Stuff like this floats around in my head all the time, I just don't write it because I can see how it would get annoying real fast. I'm not sure where all the violence comes from, but it's always there. Maybe I use violence in place of a plot? Hmm. Sorry, just thinking out loud. Someday I will write a story with a plot! I swear it! In the meantime, we get puzzle-piece dream brain fic.
Every time I come to your journal, looking for something half-remembered, I find something new to me that's dark and amazing as the Milky Way in the night sky.
You know, it's fun to receive comments on previous stories because I don't read this stuff over much after I post and I get surprised by some of the things I write. I'm not sure where I was when I posted this one... some strange place. Thanks for looking, thanks for the kind words :)
