Dream Boy by Jim Grimsley (most of his novels are Southern incest, but this one in particular will destroy you heart and soul)
Sarah by JT Leroy (scandal and all, this is still a great book)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Frisk or anything else by Dennis Cooper (my fave, my #1 influence for writing, his writing slips out of my brain the moment I've read it, I can't even tell you plots, seriously)
Lux et Nox by Bill Henson (photography)
Rimbaud (the French boy poet, yeah, though I am into his later-life biographies for their fascinating tragedy)
One Hundred Years of Solitude and Erendira by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Mysterious Skin by Scott Heim
"Walking Out" by David Quammen (possibly my fave short story)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (with Twain, the greatest champion against hypocrisy)
David Wojnarowicz (artist, writer, lived the life, died of AIDS, fantastic)
Trash and Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison
Dream Boy and Sarah and Frisk especially broke my brain once long ago and I wish I hadn't read them just so I could read them again. They are all short and perfect. There is bad blood between the authors of the last two, which is just weird and kind of sad, but I remember thinking that JT Leroy should be a fangirl, in my post-Mono recovery and jealousy, and I think she is close enough.

I've already expressed my desire for more Alastair/Dean fic where Alastair and Dean are actually in a relationship because it's CANON because it would be interesting.
I also adore wee!cest and wee!Dean fic of all kinds, especially if freckles and blushing and kicking and biting are involved.
More J2 stories taking advantage of giggle-worthy convention quotes would be awesome. They should be kinkier.
Finally, my dream for Dean/Castiel fandom is simply this: super angel dick. AFAIK, only xxamlaxx and I have written Castiel as being equipped with a superhuman, Superman-like dick of steel. If I am wrong about this, please rec me some! Because I want to read more, and since I can't, I have to write it. When Dean punches Castiel, it sounds like he's hitting lead. Shouldn't we be taking more advantage of this? Castiel can be hard for Dean all the time! Dean! The bottomest bottom who ever bottomed. This essay by Larry Niven has some interesting ideas on alien/man sex in the vein of Superman/Lois (it starts with blowing off Lois Lane's head via orgasm and ends up on the subject of mpreg - go figure) but we can do much better, I think. If Dean is used to Sam's giant peen, we need to give him something more with Cas. Angels can compete in the bedroom! And Dean deserves everything, non?
Lest you think I'm a hypocrite, I am writing superangeldick right now. Because it's the only kind of Cas I can seem to write. But the guy needs some ego stroking, poor thing.
