sled riding

Getting ready to go down as a group.

This photo was taken just a moment before a lady arrived on the scene and yelled at us for leaving a part of a broken plastic sled at the bottom of the hill. We were wrong in doing that - but we just hadn't gotten around to picking it up yet. Her daughter went down and her inflatable sled hit it and got a hole in it. She was demanding $10 so she could go to Walmart and get a new sled. I think because Gabe is so tall she thought he was a man and directed most all her yelling at him even though I was standing right beside her and I tried to talk to her and tell her I was sorry. I looked into my wallet and came up with $9 - all the money I had and gave it to her saying I was sorry that was all I had. She kept on yelling and swearing about having to go and get a new sled now because we were such lowlifes and I said, well, we have to get a new sled too - ours broke today too. She totally ignored me and started back to yelling at Gabe again. A man down the way said to her, why don't you leave these people alone? He said he had seen her earlier yelling at other people about something. She did some kind of gesture to him like jerking off and told him to mind his own business. Finally she left and went to her vehicle where her husband was. You could hear her down there still yelling about it. I wasn't going to let it bother me though and wanted to keep sledding. I thought she was mentally ill - but it ruined it for the kids and they wanted to go home. Before that we had had a lot of fun. I want to hold onto the good time we had and just forget her. But I guess I can't yet - had to write about it. She's lucky Jules wasn't with us today - having his kids yelled at would not be something he would take well. He is better at fast thinking on the spot than I am - I just wanted to apologize and get rid of her. No one was hurt - it was just a cheap inflatable sled and they had another. Sleds break all the time - it's what happens. Bitch.
