49. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR CAR?
The color of blue I don't like - a grayed down ultramarine-ish color. I like aqua blues and cobalt blues and turquoises. I didn't pick the car out and might not have cause of the color. But it's been a pretty good car. It has one annoying quirk, and I have learned to live with that. It spontaneously locks it's doors. You never know when it's going to happen. I don't dare get out and leave it with the keys in it. Sometimes it's really hard to even get in the trunk cause as soon as you unlock the doors it will lock itself again before you can get around to the back of the car to open it (and the keyhole at the trunk doesn't work). So sometimes it takes 2 people to get in the back - one at the front door with the key and another to quickly pull the latch at the back. Now that it is winter and cause I might want to run it for a while to warm it up unattended I have started to carry an extra key so it can't lock me out. Another thing it does is sometimes we will be driving down the road and suddenly on it's own it will start a series of lockings and unlockings, each time the sound gets a little weaker till after about 10 times it quits. Why don't we have this problem fixed? I don't know why for sure but it probably has something to do with the fact that it still functions as far as being able to leave the car locked - it stays locked when you leave it locked so that is good. In a way it kind of endears the car to me - it has "problems" and so I kindly put up with them. It does the few things well that I expect it to do - it keeps my valuables safe when I leave it (and it gets me places reliably and keeps me warm and dry while it is doing that) so I allow it to have it's personal expression. BTW it is a KIA Sorento 2006. I never really gave it a "name" like I have other of my cars. We call it Kia in the same way the bird in Watership Down called out the sound Kia, Kia!
