I'm excited (and a little afraid) - we are going to have a Guy Maddin film fest next door on Thursday night (going to watch "Careful" and "Dracula: Pages from a Virgin's Diary"). I'm excited to share my love of Guy Maddin but afraid that people might not "get" him, might not like him (his films are strange) - so far I haven't found anyone around here (family) who does like him. Oh well, I can still hope - my art group friends are the most open-minded people that I know.
I made 22 sheets of flower and thread paper yesterday and am now ironing it (after painting it with matte medium for durability this afternoon). The house smells like dried lavender. Jules said tonight that I must be in my glory. With just him, mom and me in the house I have taken over not only the kitchen table and sink for papermaking yesterday (and the table today with ironing of paper) but his room in the back for drying of paper. I do love to spread out.
I lied about no TV in the kitchen while Dave and Johnny are gone - I've been watching Yes Dear, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, Friends and Seinfield every afternoon for background noise and liking it!
