"Blue Star, Give Me Your Blessing" pendant - sterling, vintage faceted glass and turquoise.
I should have named it "Fabrication God, Give Me Your Blessing" instead. I never had so much trouble with something. When I sweat soldered the sunburst shape down it must have got a pocket of gas or water or something in it and then when I soldered the bezels on, it puffed up like a pillow in the back - I had to drill a hole in it (inside the bezel area so you can't see it) and pound the back flat again. Then do lots of filing to smooth the pounded metal in the back, sanding etc... Maybe I should have given up and started over but I kept thinking of a saying Dave heard from a carpenter once, "A good carpenter isn't someone who makes no mistakes - a good carpenter is someone who can fix his mistakes".
