Since I'm growing out my hair right now it's going through stages. I was thinking just now how dumb/weird/unflattering this stage might look, so I took a picture. What's with those straggly wings on the side? Could it look "stylish"? Is this a Style? I think there is something very self defining about cutting your hair or choosing a style for your hair. I feel like I'm working towards my Real and Always Style - which is bangs and a braid in the back. But do I want to keep those wings? They're weird but I kind of like them anyway. Or should I cut them shorter and just make them part of the bangs? Or should I let them grow out? Should I go to a professional and see if they could do "wings" better? I don't really trust professionals though. Either I'm not very good at communicating what I want or the look I want is impossible with the type of hair I have. The reason I'm thinking so much about hair is that I'm at the stage that I need to cut my bangs. They are interfering with my sight. I'm getting the scissors out before my shower tonight and something is going - I need to decide what.
I settled down to leaving this morning's art-a-day alone, except for writing a title in pencil on it - "Bones" - and the date. If I want to do more painting today it'll have to be on a different picture.
It started out nasty cold this morning. Windy. But the wind seems to have died down now so I'm thinking about taking Rainy for a walk down back. Tomorrow is the start of rifle season for deer. For the next two weeks it won't be safe to walk in most of the woods around here. Annoying. And it won't be much fun anyway to take Rainy because if she hears a gunshot she freaks out and all she can think about is running home.
