It's official. I have hearing loss. I kind of knew I did but it was interesting to get the test and see it on paper. A couple months ago I bought myself a cheap pair of over-the-counter hearing aids and wore them for a few days. They are the kind that sit behind your ear and a little wire connects to the part that goes in your ear. I didn't like wearing them and even though I could hear better I quit wearing them. Last night when I got home from the test I tried wearing them again but this time I turned the volume up more. It was a dramatic difference in the things I could hear with and without them. I could hear the rain on the porch roof from inside the house with them on and without them, nothing. I could hear Dave talking on his phone in the back bedroom and without them I heard nothing. So I'm going to start wearing them. And search for the kind of OTC ones that fit into your ear - nothing hanging out. I think I will like wearing that kind much better. I have an appointment in January to see about getting the higher grade, individually tailored kind and will find out how much that would cost. The technician yesterday said that the OTC kind will definitely help and might be good enough.
Just a quick experiment yesterday with painting on a wet white painted background with acrylics.
It's snowing at the moment. Lightly. No accumulation yet.
