"We Buried Sunshine Today". Actually we haven't buried her yet but we will. I painted this picture last night during a sleepless spell. Sunshine had been poorly a while ago and I got some medicine to put in their water and she seemed to get better so I quit the medicine after a couple weeks, then a couple days ago I could see she was still sick and I started the medicine again. But then yesterday afternoon I saw her just sitting in the nesting box with her eyes half closed. I petted her for a bit and then left her alone. When I went out to shut the coop up for the night she was dead. I moved her into the "barn" and she's still there. Dave will help me bury her later today. Sunshine was a good chicken. Not mean to any other chickens. A good layer till she got sick. So now they are three.

I found some pictures in my phone from the last few days:

A picture from Monday when Candy and I hiked to the Dennison Point Overlook - Kennerdell and the Allegheny below us.

This spider was on the front door frame the other day. I had the door open to get some fresh air - it was such a nice day. I'm glad I saw it and could move it away before it got in. An Orange Marbled Orb Weaver. I've heard this called a Pumpkin Spider - that's a perfect name.

A picture I took out of Berdella's bathroom window yesterday. I liked the color of the trees and then when I looked at the picture later I was doubly pleased that it had the window screen texture in the picture too.

Well, onward. I got up late and now it's getting near noon. Lunch first and then we have the burial of Sunshine.
