The Fourth of July. Not doing anything that special today. Dave and I might go to the fireworks in town tonight.
Yesterday morning I hiked around Two Mile with Rainy - we went up on the hill above the campground and then beyond that to come down the steep rocky hill into the high grass place. I always have to carry Rainy through the high grass place. We went 3 miles. That's about perfect for me. Later Dave and I met Chloe for dinner at Sweet Basil's. I had a glass of wine and margherita pizza. I'm getting disappointed in how they make their margherita pizzas anymore. They used to be the best anywhere and made the traditional way with olive oil, sliced mozzarella cheese, tomato slices and fresh basil, but now they are adding ricotta cheese (why!?) and even forget to put on the basil. That's not the way to make a margherita pizza.
This time the sand art circle did one of my favorite patterns. I like when there are lots of mountains. To get it like this you have to be patient. This one took over 24 hours. You can barely see the little trickles of sand as they are coming down.
Yesterday Dave got me a bunch of grape vines that I can use to make hoops to weave dream catchers on. After lunch my plan is to tie them into hoops and then let them dry and harden for awhile.
Dave brought in a big summer squash from his garden and I need to figure out something to make from it. I'm thinking I'll make a curry with it. Add a pepper and a big sweet onion - make some rice to go with it. I love spicy things like currys and luckily Dave likes them too. He also brought in some fresh peas - the last of the season's. They'll be good in it too.
