sunday night

We had a good weekend with Johnny and Alison here. We went to the wedding in Pittsburgh on Friday night. Ate too much, drank too much, was outwardly social too much. It took me Saturday and Sunday to get over it I think. Dave and Johnny went fishing on Saturday and Alison and I stayed here and cleaned house, did puzzles and cooked. Jules came over for dinner on Saturday night. Alison made us a quiche for breakfast this morning and then they headed home around 11. I've just been vegging out the rest of today. The weather cleared and Jules and I took a walk to the creek with the dogs in the afternoon. I used the full spectrum camera with the "blue sky" infrared filter - that's the one where the sky comes out ultramarine blue and vegetation is a greenish yellow. Pictures:

Looking towards the garden from the woods - you can barely see the garden shed roof back there.

That odd thing is a woodduck nestbox that Dave put up a few years ago. No one has taken up residence yet.

Looking towards the lake.

Close up of wild blue phlox flowers.

I thought it was interesting that the flowers looked white compared to the foliage with this filter.

I was going to post a lot more about the weekend but I'm tired - it's 11 pm. We just went outside to see if we could see the Northern Lights. We couldn't. I'm done for tonight.
