Just now. The back wall.
Early this morning (5 am) I needed to drive Jules to work from the garage where he had dropped off his car. The roads were snow covered - some more than others. Reminded me of the old days when I worked night shift and had to drive in the snow, in the dark to Polk. You just got out there and did your best. Jules and I were on the subject of tires: winter tires, summer treads, studded, all season. I've come to the point where I just always get snow tires and run them all year. I think it's because I lived through Black Hill in the days of rear wheel drive that I want to always be ready with something better than all season radials. Black Hill was a bad hill, very long with curves. Coming home from Polk I always made it but I passed a lot of people over the years who didn't. Scary. In those days (of rear wheel drive) I always used studded snow tires in the winter. I think it made the difference. It was a bother to change them each spring and fall but worth it.

I woke up around 3 am and lay in the bed with my eyes open, looking at the ceiling. I noticed a little faint light wobbling on the far wall. I came to figure out that the light came all the way from the living room, down the hall and through the bedroom door. It was created by a night light under the dining table shining on one of the curtain mirrors hanging in the front window. The song Do You Believe in Magic kept playing in my head. A little dancing magic light was visiting me. Maybe there is hope.

I was 13 when this came out. They look a little silly now but it's still a great song.
