Just a random pic of the cluttered front dining table taken yesterday. I was cleaning up and getting ready for company (the best time to distract myself with picture taking so I can put off cleaning).
It's finally New Years Day! I feel so relieved. We got through another holiday season, and with a fancy wedding in a big city thrown in there for extra anxiety factor. Dave agrees with me. He's glad we can just hunker down and relax now - concentrate on getting through winter. The wedding in Pittsburgh was fun while we were there but getting there and trying to find formal clothes was anxiety producing. I'm just not an extroverted/party person at all, though I did find people to talk to. But then I couldn't hear what they are saying. I am such a liar in how I pretend to hear and understand what others are saying in noisy social places so I don't have to constantly say "what" all the time. I actually danced quite a bit at the wedding (it was better than pretending to understand what people were saying to me). They gave out foam sticks with blinking lights inside them and somehow it made dancing easier with something in your hand to wave around (at least for me it did). There was a sea of blinking blue, red and green lights bobbing and waving around on the dance floor and I was a part of it. Of course people were softly bopping and poking each other with the sticks too. That was fun. Someone got the idea to hold his foam stick like a penis in front of him, then other guys took off on a spree of putting them in their zippers and dancing that way. I'm sorry - it was funny - I had to laugh. Isn't a wedding with alcohol supposed to be a fertility celebration?

Thinking about stuff I would like to see happen in the next year (because that's what everyone is talking about right now it seems).
I would like to:
1. Start work again on the crocheted window curtain. The thought of that is exciting to me.
2. Eat more fruit and less sweets.
3. Get back into the habit of taking the dogs for a daily walk to the creek. I got away from it during the last week or so with all the holiday stuff. Twice a day would be even better.
4. Concentrate on watching my foods better with weight loss in mind. I'd like to see my BP be lower.
5. Get a medical marijuana card. I've been experimenting with it and I feel like a better, calmer person with it. It seems to help my BP too.
6. Maybe look into getting hearing aids this year that I could use during social events.
Most of the things on the list are just things I had been doing before the holidays so I just need to get back into them again.
