Jan gave me another chicken themed cup today. Her husband Leon, when they go to craft shows and gift shops wants to buy them "for Mary". I think he inwardly wishes he could have chickens himself. He did grow up on a farm. Anyway, after I put it into the place it will probably permanently stay on the table I thought it looked like an interesting still life. From the dog sweaters hanging on the wall in the background, to the cup Leon gave me last summer (which says: I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY HENS), to the new cup (it has one nicely illustrated gray chicken), a homemade small book, ceramic glue (to glue Chloe's sea dragon back together - which didn't happen yet...) and a card shuffler. There's a painted rock and a feather hiding in there too. It's like doing street photography in my house - capturing things just as you find them. This scene won't last much longer. All the clutter will be removed next week before we have Thanksgiving here.
Jan and I had a good hike at Lake Wilhelm this morning. We went up the hill from the dam and across the forested hillside to Launch 1 and then we came back by way of the road. Home now and it's time to do some housework. Mainly the dishes. And take the dogs for a walk... Then piano, crochet and netflix, with a nap in there maybe - if the day progresses like most my days do here. Oh, and some PT exercises too! Dave went fishing.
