Today is my catch-up day for pictures I've been taking.

Wednesday evening we went to Chloe's so we could help plant her blueberry bushes.

My favorite picture of papa and daughter working together.

Finished - for now. Next week Dave is going to cut her some lumber to use in making a permanent fence that will go around the whole thing to protect the bushes from birds too.

Yesterday Jan and I hiked to the Kennerdell Lookout. I figured the mountain laurel would be blooming well by now and they were. Pictures:

Jan taking a picture of me taking a picture of her.

Nice to see the mountain laurel over the edge below us too.

I got the little macro attachment lens for my cellphone and played around a lot with that yesterday. Pictures:

On a peony bud.

Columbine.

I brought a mountain laurel flower home. All the bumping around it got on the way home released most of the stamens from the little pockets you see them in when they are on the bush.

A daisy I picked on our walk to the lake in the evening. I'm finding that the magnifying lens works much better when the flower is in the house, stabilized on a table, away from breezes. Though I could probably work out a good set-up to use it outdoors too.

I didn't mention it here yet. I did make the plane reservations for my upcoming Florida trip. I'll be there for two weeks. Just going to go by myself this time and have a very relaxed and low key visit with Kathy and Pete this time. Leaving June 29 and returning July 13th.

Finally a free day today. I might take Rainy to Two Mile. Though Dave did mention going somewhere and I might do that with him instead...
