I only walked around the front yard for a few minutes with the helios lens and macro extension tube this morning but got quite a few closeups of things that I liked:
Columbine.
Peony tree seed pods forming.
Peony bush. Always at least one ant on every flower bud.
Not sure what this flower will be but I sure did like its bud.
Plantain. I remember running around the backyard in bare feet when I was a kid and getting these stuck between my toes. Something I did not enjoy.
One of the 2 kinds of bleeding hearts I have.
Gill Over the Ground.
Rhododendron.
Return to the peony tree.
Golden ragwort seeds.
I think that's going to be my favorite camera/lens combination for a while. I might start carrying the big camera everywhere again. I feel like it will be worth carrying the weight right now.
Good news on the dead mouse front. I read that the smell should be gone in 10 to 14 days. I'm over halfway there now. You really don't notice it at all if you don't use the fan and have the window cracked. I lived with a car for many years that didn't have AC so I think I can manage it. I'm glad it's not winter and I don't need the heater.
Another fairly busy day today. Music lesson around noon and then we are meeting Chloe for dinner at Sweet Basil's and going to her house to work on her fruit trees again.
