Waiting to go to town to the optometrist yesterday. As I sat there I thought I must look funny and had Dave take a picture. Wearing my eye shield and my big sun goggles. Very sight impaired when I have all that on and no glasses. Though now it's all good. I have my glasses on again - can read and see with the trifocals and the long distance isn't that bad. I feel "whole". I think I could drive okay. My sight is really about the same as it was before. Except that it seems like my eyes are vibrating sometimes. Flashing, shimmering. Especially when the light is bright. The technician said that was normal. In about a month or so I'll have a better pair of glasses and I can put this whole experience behind me.
I got a tick on me day before yesterday - just from walking in the yard. A wet warm day. I didn't even go in the woods. It was one of the most tiny ones - just hatched from an egg. It was so small and I got it off before it really attached itself but my allergy to them is very intense. I have a nasty itchy red spot happening on my stomach now. Candy told me that she was walking in the woods that same day and got 5 of the tiny ones on her pants. Must have been a hatching of them that day after that really cold spell we had over Christmas.
Johnny, Alison and Michael arrive this afternoon. I just have a few more last minute things to prepare before they get here. Need to get going...
