Our first morning glories bloomed this morning. I have two big pots on the back porch. They don't have the best of soil in them. It's tired soil, or something else is wrong. I keep planting different things in the pots hoping to find a plant to match the soil. At least the morning glories are growing. Not flourishing but they are growing. Don't tell me what I should do to improve the situation. I don't want to know. I don't care about plants as much as some people do. Sometimes I'm just glad when a plant finally dies. Dave is the gardener, the forester. I'm not. I'm the one who takes care of animals. They are my thing. I will plant seeds, plant a seedling, get it started, I'll water it, feed it too, weed around it a bit but then it's on it's own. Live or die. Thank goodness there are a few plants that like that kind of hands off treatment. Sedum is one and I have lots of those.

Candy is busy with family so it's just Rainy and me for a hike in the woods today. Planning to go to Two Mile first and then the post office. I have packed up a bunch of rocks to mail - to my sister's family, to Johnny and Alison, and to an LJ friend's mom. I'm getting excited about painting on the new rocks that I got yesterday from the creek. I'm just going to use the actual brown color of the rock as the background color now. I think I'm starting to get my own style of what I want to do with them now and looking forward to seeing where that will take me.
