Here's a silly little face. This morning I thought - geez, I should be using the jelly cup gouache paints more. So this little face was just me playing with the gouache. Because it's matte it takes colored pencil over it nicely.

Had another sleepless night last night. Up till 4 am. Not good. Got up late and didn't have time before OA for anything else than to make a little art and quickly write the above, but not post it.

Later - afternoon...

Here's a few pictures from yesterday when I took a walk with Rainy on the Arch Tree Trail at Two Mile Run.

A Little Dog in the Big Woods, waiting for me to get moving. I had to adjust my bag and put on some fluorescent orange before we could get going.

Arch Tree.

Life is Simple. I found this on the trail. It seems to be made of rubber. It had been attached to a horse shoe. I was thinking about taking it home for a souvenir but then thought it would be better to just take a picture of it. I don't need more stuff cluttering up the house. I guess it is like a "sole" for the metal shoe - it cushions it, or maybe it keeps rocks and dirt from getting inside the horse shoe. i'd never seen anything like that before.

The trail was terribly muddy in places. I can't seem to learn my lesson to stay off the horse trails in spring. Rainy is getting to be a real trooper and is willing to go through shallow water and mud now. When we first got her she refused to walk in any water. She'd balk and just stand there. I'd have to carry her. But now she comes home a very muddy and dirty dog after our walks in the woods. She goes for a haircut next week. That should be better for not picking up dirt.

I just got back from dropping Sebastian off at FedEx. He is heading out for another week of delivering packages in Carlisle, PA. Once he gets there they put him up in a motel for the duration.
