I finished making 37 of these little pamphlet books for my "Morning Pages" (and other stuff that I don't want to write in my big Everything Books like affirmations etc...). Half of them have antique brown paper and half have white paper. I figured out that 30 of these small booklets are the equivalent writing area of one of the Everything Books so I will be stretching out the use of the EBs this way. It usually takes me one year to fill up an EB with drawings and writing so maybe I will only need to make a new one every 2 years if I put most my fluff writing in the pamphlet books. This probably all seems boring to read about here but this is the kind of stuff my mind loves to think about. Planning uses for stationary supplies. The making of these pamphlets reminded me of John today.

John loved stationary supplies and he loved going to Staples. His computer was his creative outlet and the church bulletins he put together weekly were the things he loved doing the most. There are all kinds of papers specially made to print fancy church bulletins and to print special notices with background pictures. That was the most fun for him - to pick out the papers. On Friday nights I would go over and put the papers into his printer so he could print them off and then I'd use the long arm stapler to staple them in the middle on the fold. He would find little jokes and stories to put in the bulletins to fill them out to 8 pages (2 sheets of paper). He loved it. But eventually one of the old church ladies (damn her) complained that there was too much fluff in the bulletin so he had to reduce it down to one page, no stories, no jokes.

Well, onward. I still need to practice one more song on the piano, eat supper and go to my music lesson.

john, memories, writing for serenity, morning meditation
