11:30 am. Got a late start today. I did get up earlier at 7 and do morning chores but then went back to bed. I was up in the night for a couple hours. Couldn't sleep. Got up and made some decaf tea and crocheted for a while. Started to watch the show "Offspring".
Seems that I have passed a threshold of healing with the hand/wrist. Last night I didn't wear the brace to bed (it had been keeping my hand from going numb in the night). After that dream I had the night before where the sensation in the dream of plunging my hand into the snow was similar to pushing my hand into the stretchy brace I thought I'd give it a try without it. I had a good night with the hand last night. It has tinges of aching and numbness but nothing so bad I can't handle it. I don't know why I was so wakeful last night, and so tired this morning. Many nights I get up for a couple hours in the night but I still carry on in the morning just fine.
Roswell was a fan of raisin bran for a while and now he's not. Jules bought a bunch of boxes of it and now wants to get rid of them. I said I'd take them. So I was looking up raisin bran muffin recipes this morning. That might be nice. I could bake them, freeze them and have them for a ready breakfast.
Woke up for morning chores to a skiff of snow on the ground. It's gone now though. Still cold and overcast. Just doesn't look very inviting out there. Yet.
This little knucklehead has now peed on our bed twice. She goes to sleep on the bed in the daytime and then I guess she wakes up and she's too lazy to come and tell us she wants to go out so she just pees on the bed and goes back to sleep. Then we come to bed at night and find it. She has been very hard to housetrain. I was reading about it and Shih Tzu's are notoriously hard to housebreak. She still choses to go down to the basement and go on pads about 10% of the time. Sometimes she lets me know she wants to go out and other times I guess she just doesn't want to bother. She gets a treat every time she goes out and does something and she insists on getting the treat when she comes in so she knows that the two acts are connected. She's a funny little thing. She doesn't want to go out to do her business till the very last minute. I can be letting Andy out at 8 am but she refuses to go too. Then at 8:05 she is going crazy with wanting to go out and soft-biting me to herd me to the door as quickly as possible. It's like it has to be her idea. Another thing I've read about Shih Tzu's is that they are very stubborn. She is stubborn. She might not be full blooded but she has a lot of S T in her. So now we have to keep her off our bed and out of our room all day I guess.
Time for lunch. Time to get done writing and start my day.
