Sebby's taking my car and heading down to Zelienople airport for flying lessons today.
I think I will make an effort to do something exciting and different today too.
I haven't been down to the creek or to the lake since the big snow came in January,
then I broke my wrist, and I've been holed up in the house since then.
Dave has taken Andy down to the lake and he says the flood cut a new channel into the lake.
I'd like to see that.
Dave's ice fishing is over for the season so he's home today.
We'll be able to take both dogs on a walk.
The eagles are nesting so we won't be able to go clear round the lake though.
Good things: I was able to cut my own nails last night.
And I'm brushing my hair with a hairbrush and my right hand again.
I ordered squishy balls so I can squeeze them and improve my hand grip.
They will get here tomorrow.
I don't know if it's just because I'm getting older and less resilient but
all the news of war
and disease and changes to the climate just feels so overwhelming.
Distressing. What's next?
The things "out there" are awful.
The things "in here" are getting better.
I need to focus on what's here in front of me I guess,
Spring is getting stronger.
The days are getting longer.
The ice is melting.
I won't need to wear my cleated boots to do chicken chores much longer.
I don't see any new plant growth outside yet but I can feel it stirring.
Question:
Which color tends to appear most in your wardrobe?
Black.
Simple black.
I like to have my favorite jewelry on though and that has some color.
Browns and greens.
I wear a pendant that reminds me of both my brother and my sister.
And a feathery pair of earrings that is similar to a pair that Nancy has.
