I've been watching Get Back, about the Beatles just before their breakup. I'm seeing mixed reviews here on LJ about it but I am really enjoying it. Especially getting to watch them write their songs. I think it is amazing to see. We are getting to see what the song looked like as it was being born. The songs don't sound quite right (because they aren't in the finished form we are used to hearing), then the words and music gradually morph into the form that is familiar. I was not a lover of the early Beatles (Beatlemania - yuck) but I was a fan of their music at the time of this documentary.
I got my covid test yesterday. I did not expect that I would need to sneeze while the swab was up there. I had to sneeze multiple times. I will be glad when the results come back in a couple days and I can continue with life as usual. We've stopped having Sebby come over for breakfast until I know for sure and I miss that. If it is positive, then darn, what next? Wait 5 or more days before I go out again? Not feeling any symptoms different than I usually feel in the winter - mainly a stuffy nose that comes and goes. I will be very surprised if I find out that I have it.
Questions:
Have you ever baked a pie?
I'm a woman and 68 years old - what do you think? I'm not a "good" pie baker. I've made a few ugly pies. Do I like baking pies? Not that much. Usually now for special occasions I will buy a frozen pie and then bake it at home. But yesterday Kathy was telling me about a quiche she was planning to make for her book club and that got me thinking I might like to make a quiche too. Maybe I will today.
Do you like reality/competition TV shows? Why or why not? If so, which ones?
Don't like them at all. Why? Just not something I am interested in. Maybe I've just not watched enough of them to understand the charm of them. I remember many years ago (2003?) we had satellite cable TV and we watched The Biggest Loser when it first came on but I would not watch it now. Our present TV viewing comes from Netflix, Disney and HBO max, which we watch on the small screens of our phones. No reality shows now.
To do today: I sold something on etsy yesterday. I packed it up last night. Need to get that out to the mailbox for sure - it's of vital importance I don't forget. Other than that nothing much except for piano practice and crochet.
