It's just not as interesting (fun?) for me to post without pictures, and with only one finger typing on this little phone screen. But I have some time this morning. See what comes out.

My Christmas cactus is blooming. That was a pleasant surprise this morning. It was all happening on the side facing the window so I hadn't realized it before. I took a picture. Maybe I'll remember to show it next week when I get my laptop back.

I was pleased that it will only cost approximately $240 in all to have the laptop fixed. That's including super express shipping and handling. I'm hoping to have it back by next weekend.

Yesterday we had a beautiful sunny and warm afternoon. We took the dogs for a walk to the creek and to the lake. The eagles had been building a new nest in a sycamore tree closer to the lake. Though they might have abandoned their efforts. We didn't see them working on it anymore and there were an awful lot of sticks under the nest. It looked as though they just couldn't get the sticks (and corn cobs and corn stalks) to stay in place. The day we saw them actually working on it a few days ago it appeared that one would stay with the nest while the other brought the building materials. But no eagles in sight there yesterday.

Update on Andy and his barking at Dave when he is talking to someone. It was so easy to get him to quit! Just tell him to sit, then lay down. Issue solved. So Dave yelling at him to Shut Up and me shushing him with a vengeance doesn't work! Just a simple quietly spoken "sit" was all it took. We are so dumb sometimes. I really should have known better. Andy is very smart. He can even understand if I don't want him to bark when he goes out in the night. As he goes out the door I speak to him in a very whispery voice to be "quiet" and he is! Most the time (if I allow it) he runs full blast out the door barking as he goes. He does love to get his barking in.

Watched a disturbing but really good movie: The Kindergarten Teacher. It stuck with me for a few days after watching it. Also another movie I really liked - not so dark: The Fundamentals of Caring.

Well, I hear the chickens waking up over the baby monitor. Time to get out there and release them from the coop so they can start their day.

Raining today.
