a productive day
I spent the whole day painting and drawing on the tray. Just now finished pouring epoxy resin over the picture. I still need to glue some felt on the bottom but that can wait till Thursday. I want to wait for the epoxy to get good and hard before I do anything more with it. The directions for the epoxy say that it takes 72 hours for maximum hardness. The fancy letter P in the center has the name that Johnny and Alison have chosen for themselves on it - "Ashen".
I like to make dots on things and then draw lines to connect the dots. Or make circles that touch each other. As I'm doing it I'm thinking about people and the connections of people. I kind of use it like a mantra or prayer. As I was painting the hundreds of dots on this tray I was thinking about sending blessings to Johnny and Alison and all the people they will meet in their lives, and all the people and beings around them. I can understand why sometimes the art of mentally disturbed people has repeating dots and lines. It is soothing to draw them. Clears the mind. It is a form of therapy.
Okay, now to clear my mind another way. Get lost in Grey's Anatomy. (I'm now in season 14!) It'll be good to lay in bed and watch TV for a while. I'm tired and my back aches.
