monday - glad to be home again

The wedding was a big fancy affair. So much food and drink. I ate and drank my way through most of it. I am a compulsive eater. Put me in a social situation where I feel out of my element and I will get into my element (food and drink). At one point though, after the wedding I got ahold of myself and got away from people and took a little walk around the grounds by myself. There was a lovely pavilion in the backyard with seats and landscaping where I sat and started to feel like myself again. So I took a couple pictures of that:

Anyway, it was a beautiful wedding and reception but I'm glad it's over and life can get back to normal here at home again with 2 dogs, a cat and 7 chickens instead of a lot of people I don't know and can't understand because of the noise. It was a 5 and a half hour drive to get home and I'm glad that is over too. I made the comment to Dave that if I was to hike the Appalachian Trail I'd want to do it in 10 mile a day sections and if I was to travel the country by car I'd want to do it in 200 mile a day sections. Make lots of stops and do lots of little explorations. Driving 70 mph on interstate highways is the best way to get somewhere fast but it is not enjoyable. I was trying to remember and when I was little we didn't have the interstates. Cloverleafs were a new idea back then. Roads where you never had to stop - continuous movement - was a new thing.

Anyway. As I said. Today - back to normal life and Monday hiking/biking with Candy. I think we are going to the Rail 66 Trail over by Lucinda and having lunch at Sweet Basil's.

i remember, social anxiety, wedding
