Jan and I had a super good hike at the Wolf Creek Narrows yesterday. Afterwards we had lunch at the North Country Brewing Company. I didn't have my usual (the fish sandwich), instead I had something they called a Portabella Shreuben (a Reuben sandwich without meat - with portabella mushroom instead). My gosh it was so good. I'm going shopping today while Dave gets his eye poke and going to get the ingredients to make it here at home. Here's some pictures I took yesterday:
The bridge crossing Wolf Creek.
A cozy hole.
Wolf Creek.
The bridge in the far distance now.
Green pond in the woods.
Slow moving water.
Back home later... This is Pip being broody. Her neck feathers are raised and her tail end is up. She gets all puffed up wanting to scare others away.
While Jan and I were in the woods we came across a couple with a dog. I remarked what a beautiful dog it was and we got into a conversation with them. We came to find that Jan and the woman were neighbors growing up back in Oil City and Jan's youngest sister was this woman's good friend. The man was good friends with Jan's brother. The man had the same last name as my friend David who just died yesterday - but they weren't related that he knew of. So many coincidences. Made me think how if you had a chance to talk to everyone you met you would probably be surprised at how connected everyone is. But we don't talk to everyone we meet and they just go by as strangers.
I had interesting dreams last night. We were in a place out west where Deb was living now. She was making bathing suits out of a certain kind of leathery material and they were very attractive. She had a good friend that she was living with. But there was some kind of a mystery problem in the dream. The town was trying to trap us. There was a magical rule that if you accepted something from someone in the town you would have to stay forever. Johnny and Alison were there and they had already accepted something. They were warning me to not take anything. But other people in the town were trying to trick me into accepting things from them. Trying to hand me things to hand to other people - making me think that if it wasn't for me then it wouldn't count. Finally in the dream I gave up and took something. Oh well. I kind-of didn't believe that the magic would work. They couldn't make me stay if I didn't want to. I woke up as soon as I took the book the girl in the post office was handing me so I don't know if I was able to escape.

Today, as I mentioned before is Dave's eye poke day in Meadville. So shopping at the Giant Eagle there for Shreuben ingredients is on the agenda, plus I want to get stuff for a big pot of vegetable soup. And the usual - piano practice and work on my collage pictures...
