Good morning. Had a good and bad day yesterday. Good - lunch with Nancy. I love the kinds of things we talk about. We ate at Benjamin's. Now that I'm eating out again I'm remembering how much I miss eating salads. I had a garden salad with salmon. A pleasure to eat. Later in the day Dave and I went shopping and we bought salad making materials - cucumbers, lots of different kinds of lettuce, tomatoes and honey French dressing. So I know what I'm going to be eating today at home. The bad part of yesterday was finding out that my friend David Z is in intensive care in a Pittsburgh hospital. They think he has cancer in the brain and lungs. They will find out more today. I bounce back and forth thinking about other things and then my mind comes back to him. What a terrible thing he is facing.

Anyway. I'm looking forward to some of the possibilities of today. I ordered a tick killing spray that is safe to use on your body or on furniture - made from essential oils and it should arrive today. Lemongrass scent. Looking forward to putting that to use. I got a message yesterday from Lin, an old friend who I had fallen out of touch with. She contacted me through etsy and wants to come by the house on Thursday to get a chain. So I need to finish cleaning up the workbench. I stalled on that and my room is a huge mess so today's work will be getting back to sorting and organizing gems and jewelry elements. It wouldn't hurt to clean other parts of the house too. Yeah. Also she took a big interest in my goat shed back when I knew her. I had just fixed it up back then in 2010. It'll be fun to take her out back and show it to her now.
So my day today: cleaning, spraying essential oils, and I bought some hen and chicks that I want to plant in pots for the goat shed window shelf. If I could fit in a hike too today that would be great. And eat salad!
Bonus picture: the maple tree out front this morning. Getting ready to open its flower buds.
