The question:
19 What was the first song you ever memorized?
Probably something like America the Beautiful while I was in elementary school. But I can't remember it now. Recently I learned El Condor Pasa so I could play it on the ukulele and sing along. I was never very good at memorizing things. Or remembering later the things I memorized. I do remember taking it upon myself for some reason to memorize a Mother Goose poem when I was first starting to read. The Three Little Kittens. I was very proud of myself for that. I liked to recite it with much gusto. "What!?! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!!!! Then you shall have no pie!!!"

Thinking again about getting a tattoo. I've wanted a wrist tattoo similar to Nancy's for years - something that could peek out of the cuff of my shirt. But I could never figure out exactly what I would get. Hazel said yesterday, how about a bird? Birds are a thing I love. The wood thrush in particular. I've also always wanted to design my own tattoo but now I'm thinking it might be better to let a professional design it. Just like in making a stained glass window the professional might know something more about designing in that medium than I do. So that's where my mind is this morning - looking up wood thrush tattoo images... Dave is against tattoos - thinks they are a waste of money. I don't agree. My opinion is that they come in a wide range from attractive to horrible. Dumb to awesome. I want to make sure mine is awesome before I commit to it. Who knows how many years more it'll take before I figure that out though. But I want one before I die. I want to experience many things in my life and a tattoo is one of them. If it turns out bad then I will only need to have it there for less than a 1/4 of my life. I can tell Dave at least my whole life hasn't been ruined with one.

Thinking slowly.

I'm hoping to get out of here early for my OA meeting so I can walk in the cemetery first. It is cold this morning! Only a little above freezing. The young chickens poked their heads out of their door and hesitated - didn't want to come out. Finally they decided to come out but they huddled together once they got to the ground. When it snows they are in for a surprise.

Foggy outside and foggy window glass too this morning.
