The question:
25 What three fictional characters (from film, TV, or books) do you most strongly identify with?
These are not the kind of questions I'm good at. The only characters I can usually think of are ones I am watching or reading right now and there might not be good matches there. At the risk of appearing very unimaginative I'm going to pass on this one.
Yesterday Candy and I went on a super nice ride. The village of Sunny Slopes is about 2.5 miles away from Brandon (where we started). The paved bike trail stops at Sunny Slopes and you would have to have to go through the village itself on a very rutted and hilly gravel road if you continued on to the Kennerdell Tunnel. Dangerous really. Some of the cottages are just feet away from the road so your audience (people sitting in lawn chairs on their porches) is very close. Anyway, after the last time we went through there we said never again and we haven't been on the stretch of trail between Brandon and Sunny Slopes for a while. The plan yesterday was just to go to the edge of Sunny Slopes (where the paved trail ends), turn around and go back to Brandon and then go in the other direction past Indian God Rock and turn around at the place where the trail opens up into a sunny hot section - about 10 miles in all. I had forgotten how beautiful the trail near Brandon was. Shady, nice cottages (set back from the trail) and beautiful views of the river. A few pictures that really don't capture how nice a day it was:
Someone built a nice dock near the river at Brandon.
I liked how the leaves lay on the wooden deck at Indian God Rock.
Indian God Rock itself. From here you can't even see anything special about it. Need to get closer to see the carvings on it.
Good old Barnebey.
Last night - my first attempt (crappy cell phone pic) at getting a picture of how pretty the Black Astralorp chickens' feathers are. From far away the birds look black but up close you see they are blue, or green, in certain light. Expect to see more, better pictures of this later.
Today Jan and Berdella and I are swimming in Berdella's son's pool. It's heated.
