printers are the invention from ....
well, they are also a big help
but i've lost track of how many we've had
and they all ate ink
all of mine inevitably ran out of ink when i was in the middle of a job

i currently have a brother - it's very compact
does what i need - eats ink
it can also decide it has a paper clog when it doesn't
i hate machines who think they are smarter than humans

I've heard good things about Brother - see comment from Bill S below. My son has a Brother - going to ask him about it too.

Thanks for the input! I do like having color. I have been getting HP for many years - but I think I have reached the end of that! As soon as I get my next HP ink cartridges in the mail I'm going to cancel the replenishment deal and look for a new printer so it'll be ready when the ink is gone.

i used to have HP
when husband and i were doing a lot of Lions work we both had a printer and both were in constant use
i was also doing work for my art society and needed color
i still use a lot of color cartridges

i never use protection plans.
i figure if a printer lasts 2 years i've gotten my money's worth
i can usually get a good deal at Staples
