Probably the only one here on LJ who would understand this, or to whom it would make much sense is my sister,
earthmother45. When I drew this map today it helped me to make the paths that I weed wacked recently even more real. For many years the lower part of the yard was lost to us because of flood erosion and then giving up and just letting everything grow up again. When we were young our dad mowed pathways through the brush and we could go anywhere. The woods were different then - not full of multiflora rose - you could walk between the trees everywhere. There was a road through the woods that our brother John drove his specially adapted golf cart on. We spent many happy hours riding that road with him as if it was a race track. But the road was washed away in a flood and that was the end of trying to make the woods accessible. Map:
Everything that is yellow in the lower part of the map is now newly accessible. That makes me happy.
The blue line shows where John's dirt road for the golf cart used to be. The flood dug a rocky canyon right through it.
