good morning wednesday

This is something that I really like about this time of the year - how the lower yard is illuminated in the morning. I can see it from the kitchen window.

Yesterday Jan and I hiked out to the Kennerdell Overlook. It was a very overcast and dark day but no rain. Some pictures from the overlook - the usual stuff - just done on a different day:

We passed a lot of moss covered logs and trees but for some reason this one seemed extra bright green and arrested me as I went by it.

Just something nice about approaching the edge of the hill and more and more of the Allegheny River valley being revealed with each step.

More of the little village of Kennerdell.

Here's some old-timey machinery from the same area where the tree was eating the wheel. That wheel was probably a part of this machinery back in the day and someone leaned it against that tree and forgot it.

Today is piano lesson day and my day to take Rainy to the groomer. Also last night I drove David Z to the Titusville Hospital so we could visit his sister Lori there and I'll probably be doing that again later today. Lori is very sick with a UTI. Also, for people who might be wondering - David's dog Halley is doing okay. The antibiotics he asked for instead of putting her to sleep that day seem to have helped her for now.
